Happy Sheetala Ashtami 2022 Wishes : Today i.e. on 25 March 2022, the festival of Sheetala Ashtami is being celebrated. Whereas according to the Hindu calendar, Sheetla Ashtami is observed every year on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. Sheetla Ashtami, which is celebrated eight days after Holi, is also known as Basoda.
It is celebrated with full devotion in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that Mata Sheetla is very fond of stale food. Therefore, on this day they are offered stale food, that is, on the evening of Saptami Tithi, food is prepared for the mother. Then the next day i.e. on Ashtami, this bhog is offered to the mother and then only stale food is taken as prasad.
