Special Things Related To Guru Tegh Bahadur

• अपने त्याग और बलिदान के लिए वह सही अर्थों में ‘हिन्द की चादर’ कहलाए.
• कश्मीर में हिंदुओं को जबरन मुस्लिम बनाने के वे सख्त विरोधी रहे और खुद भी इस्लाम कबूलने से मना कर दिया.
• साल 1665 में उन्होंने आनंदपुर साहिब शहर बनाया और बसाया. वह गुरुबाणी, धर्म ग्रंथों के साथ-साथ शस्त्रों और घुड़सवारी में भी प्रवीण थे.
• गुरु तेग बहादुर बचपन से ही बहादुर, निर्भीक स्वभाव के और आध्यात्मिक रुचि वाले थे. मात्र 14 वर्ष की आयु में अपने पिता के साथ मुगलों के हमले के खिलाफ हुए युद्ध में उन्होंने अपनी वीरता का परिचय दिया. इस वीरता से प्रभावित होकर उनके पिता ने उनका नाम तेग बहादुर यानी तलवार के धनी रख दिया.
• अमृतसर में जन्मे गुरु तेग बहादुर गुरु हरगोविन्द जी के पांचवें पुत्र थे. 8वें गुरु हरिकृष्ण राय जी के निधन के बाद, इन्हें 9वां गुरु बनाया गया था. इन्होंने आनन्दपुर साहिब का निर्माण कराया और ये वहीं रहने लगे थे.
• उन्होंने मुगल शासक औरंगजेब की तमाम कोशिशों के बावजूद इस्लाम धारण नहीं किया और तमाम जुल्मों का पूरी दृढ़ता से सामना किया. औरंगजेब ने उन्हें इस्लाम कबूल करने को कहा तो गुरु साहब ने कहा ‘शीश कटा सकते हैं, केश नहीं’.
• दिल्ली का मशहूर गुरुद्वारा शीश गंज साहिब जहां है, उसी स्थान पर उनकी हत्या की गई थी और उनकी अंतिम विदाई भी यहीं से हुई थी. वो जगह आज रकाबगंज साहिब के नाम से जानी जाती है.
